On October 29, Catherine will participate in a panel discussion, “Hawaiʻi: Deep Beauty and Volcanic Power” http://www.aadl.org/node/232882 at the Ann Arbor District Library in Michigan. Catherine will show slides of her Hawaiʻi inspired paintings and discuss her artistic practice. Frances Kai-Hwa Wang will read from "Where the Lava Meets the Sea—Asian Pacific American Postcards from Hawai‘i", a collection of her essays, prose, poems and short stories, and Tom Peek will read from his award-winning novel, Daughters of Fire. Dr. Susan Najita, Professor of English at the University of Michigan, will moderate the discussion. Light Hawaiian snacks will be served. Tuesday, October 29, 7:00 p.m., Ann Arbor District Library Multipurpose Room, 343 S. Fifth Ave., Ann Arbor, Michigan.
