Have you been meaning to start your college application essays all summer? What do those questions mean? Where do you even start? How do you fit it all into the word count? This college application essay boot camp prompts you to sit down and just get it done. Using timed writings and discussion, we will inventory your high school experiences, analyze application essay questions, write a good first draft and discuss editing techniques. Bring a laptop, notebook and pen. Bring a friend too!

What do Chinese people eat at Chinese New Year and the Chinese moon festival, and why?
What role did Chinese restaurants play in American immigration history?
Where were fortune cookies invented?
And who is General Tso and why are we eating his chicken?

Afterward, watch Frances Kai-Hwa Wang demonstrate how to make a smashed cucumber salad and discover your fortune in a cookie!
