"We fear that absent these controls, in the rush to curtail suspected espionage or information leaks, a failure to exercise proper restraint of racially based suspicions will lead to many more Sherry Chens in the future."

The World Has Moved On, But Nepal's Youth Are Just Getting Started - NBC News

my article for NBC News Asian America re Nepal Youth
"Seeing the youth be so proactive in distributing their services, relief and helping coordinate for such a national disaster during a political and governmental vacuum has been brilliant," Nepali American Joshua Leslie who grew up in Nepal and recently graduated from Georgetown University told NBC News. "Yet, this energy and adrenaline cannot be put to rest. To ensure that such a lack of organized response does not happen again, we have to not only rebuild the lives of those affected, but also rebuild and be active in building the identity of our country that is inclusive of all the different ethnicities, cultures and religions."

Auction Internment Items Saved by George Takei Find New Home - NBC News.com

My article for NBC News Asian America
"The museum had always been quietly working behind the scenes to support the community's efforts to try to get the artifacts," JANM President and CEO Greg Kimura told NBC News. "When it became clear the environment had been poisoned [by the controversy], the museum had to take a principal role. The big fear was that those artifacts might go to a university or an encyclopedic institution without a direct tie to the [Japanese-American] community."

Japanese PM Slammed During US Visit on Comfort Women Issue - NBC News.com

My article for NBC News Asian America
"In yesterday's speech, Prime Minister Abe referred to 'miracles of history' and 'hope.'" Rep. Mike Honda told NBC News. "He had his own chance to make a 'miracle of history' and give 'hope' to the surviving comfort women by simply admitting the Japanese Imperial Army's responsibility and offering a full, unequivocal apology. Instead, he skirted the issue, making vague references to actions against other Asian nations."
