Louisville Mourns 'Family Man' Shot After School Drop-Off - NBC News.com

My article for NBC News Asian America on the tragic shooting of a Pakistani American father in Louisville
"As an Asian-American Muslim community living in America at this time, the community is very sensitive and apprehensive," Khalid Kahloon, Ahmed's family attorney, told NBC News, "This is a source of great discomfort to the community as to why a member would be murdered in this way. We cannot say it is for certain about race, but deep down in our hearts we cannot say that it was just another senseless murder on the American highway."

Multicultural Cast of 'Big Hero 6' Wins Big at Oscars - NBC News.com

My article for NBC News Asian America
Asian Americans were waiting, watching, and hoping as "Big Hero 6" went on to win Best Animated Feature at the 87th Academy Awards, dubbed by many as the "whitest" Oscars in years. In an industry long accused of everything from using yellowface and race-bending to whitewashing characters of color and employing harmful stereotypes, a sweet story about a hapa Asian-American boy genius and his robot managed to win over not only millions of moviegoers but Academy members as well.
Set in futuristic San Fransokyo, the movie features a diverse, multiracial and multicultural cast of characters including the voices of Daniel Henney, Ryan Potter, and Jamie Chung.

Are You A 'Good' or 'Bad' Muslim? These Two Will Help Figure Out - NBC News.com

My article at NBC News Asian America
Many of our conversations stem from how surprised everyone is that we exist: radical, funny, feminist self-identifying Muslim women. I love that we add complexity to "neat and tidy" definitions, despite pressure from Muslims and non-Muslims to engage in those "Will the real Muslim please stand up?" type conversations.
